The program was honored to welcome, on the part of Ho Chi Minh City Open University. HCM with the participation of Dr. Do Sa Ky – Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the School Council; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – School Principal; Dr. GVCC. Le Xuan Truong – Vice Principal of the School; and representatives of Consulates of other countries; military units; local agencies and departments; Universities and Colleges; Businesses are partners, cooperating with the University, sponsoring the University’s Student Support Fund; Brothers and Sisters representing the Board of Directors of the School’s Alumni Club; leaders of faculties and alumni of all courses. In particular, the presence of new students of the class of 2025 created a solemn, warm and proud atmosphere on the opening day of the new school year.
In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – Principal of the School, sent a profound message on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the University’s founding, and affirmed the OPEN training orientation, linked to social needs: “With a multi-disciplinary and multi-level training system, in the 2025-2026 school year, Ho Chi Minh City Open University trains 51 bachelor’s degree programs; 12 master’s degree programs; 8 master’s degree programs. Doctoral degrees in all three fields of economics, engineering and humanities. The current training scale is over 40,000 undergraduate students, 1,187 graduate students and 154 graduate students. The rate of students having jobs within 12 months of graduation is over 95%, of which the rate of work related to the training field is nearly 83%.
From those proud results, the Principal also expressed his belief and sent congratulations to the new Gen Z students – talented, dynamic and creative young people: “This is the beginning of a new journey, full of hardship and challenges, but also an opportunity for you to discover yourself, practice your thinking, expand your knowledge and form life values. Especially, in the context of rapidly developing technology and digital transformation, nurture the spirit of lifelong learning. Viewing knowledge as luggage, technology as a tool to master the future, become global citizens: brave, creative and pioneering in the new era. Continuously improve the sense of responsibility to oneself and the community, promoting the spirit of discipline and compassion. These are the core values that Ho Chi Minh City Open University always respects and strives for.

The Class of 2025 marks an impressive generation of students from more than 1,000 high schools in 50 provinces and cities across the country. Notably, nearly 50% of new students achieved good academic performance and 190 students had an IELTS certificate of 6.0 or higher upon admission.
These scholarships are not only a reward for students’ tireless study efforts over the past time, but also a great source of encouragement, encouraging the spirit of studiousness, pursuing their passion for learning, striving to become useful citizens for their families and contributing a lot of intellectual energy to society.
At the same time, Ho Chi Minh City Open University warmly commended students for their outstanding achievements, not only in studying, but also in scientific research activities, volunteer activities, and community service.
