HO CHI MINH CITY OPEN UNIVERSITY SIGNS PARTNERSHIP WITH ACCA, EXPANDING CAREER DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR ACCOUNTING AND AUDITING STUDENTS

On the afternoon of August 6, 2026, at the campus located at 35–37 Ho Hao Hon Street, Ho Chi Minh City Open University held a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). This event marks a new milestone in the partnership between the two institutions, aiming to enhance training quality and expand opportunities for international-standard learning and career development for students majoring in Accounting and Auditing.

Attendees representing Ho Chi Minh City Open University included Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University, along with representatives from the leadership and faculty of the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing.

Representing ACCA were Mr. Ren Varma – Director of ACCA Southeast Asia; Mr. Bui Khac Nam – Head of External Relations (Education and Training) at ACCA Vietnam; and Mr. Ha Nhat Tuan – Deputy Head of External Relations (Education and Training) at ACCA Vietnam.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University – emphasized that the long-standing partnership between Ho Chi Minh City Open University and ACCA has delivered significant practical value regarding training and career development for students. The signing of this continued cooperation agreement serves as a foundation for both parties to strengthen their connection and effectively leverage each other’s strengths, while also creating further opportunities for students to access international professional standards during their studies.

Under the agreement, Ho Chi Minh City Open University and ACCA will collaborate on various practical initiatives. Key areas of focus include reviewing and enhancing the alignment between the university’s curriculum and ACCA’s professional qualification program, facilitating eligibility for exam exemptions in accordance with ACCA regulations, and organizing academic programs, professional seminars, career counseling, and career networking activities.

Additionally, the two parties will strengthen support for learners, including scholarship programs for outstanding students from the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing. This initiative provides students with opportunities to access professional knowledge, industry standards, and an international working environment, thereby gradually enhancing their professional competence and adaptability to labor market demands.
