The “OU Story” writing contest.

I. ELIGIBILITY
Students and alumni of Ho Chi Minh City Open University;
For full-time students currently studying at the University, participation will earn 3 training points added to Article 3 of the second semester of the 2024-2025 academic year;
Each contestant may submit a maximum of 2 entries.

II. GENERAL REGULATIONS OF THE COMPETITION
1. Format – Theme:

1.1 Format:

Each entry must meet the following criteria:

Minimum 1000 words;

The language used must be clear, pure Vietnamese, easy to understand, and creative;
Appropriate illustrations are an advantage. Images must have a minimum resolution of 100ppi.

1.2 Theme

Celebrating the achievements of the University throughout its 35-year history of formation and development;
Share memorable experiences, life lessons, and positive personal changes after studying at the School;

The content of the articles should reflect the spirit of unity and camaraderie among teachers and students in the School; and demonstrate the aspirations and dynamic, creative spirit of youth.

1.3 Regulations for Submitted Works

The content of the articles must be positive, conveying the message of the above-mentioned themes, with creative ideas, aesthetic appeal, and attractiveness to the reader;

Entries must be created by the individual, and authors are solely responsible for the accuracy, truthfulness, and copyright of their work;

The content of the works must be appropriate to the educational environment, the traditional culture of the nation, and the customs and traditions of Vietnam.

2. Timeline

Planning and idea generation for the competition: December 1, 2024 – December 10, 2024;

Implementation period: December 16, 2024 – January 10, 2025;

Voting and judging period: January 12, 2025 – January 20, 2025 (tentative);

Announcement of results: February 10, 2025 (tentative).

3. How to submit entries:

Send your entry via email to: news@ou.edu.vn with the following information:

+ Email subject: OU MY STORY 2024 – [Name of participant]

+ Email content: Entry (Word file), entry information: Full name, Student ID, Faculty, Contact phone number.

Note: Please name your Word file using the following format:

[Candidate’s Full Name]_Student ID_Faculty_Contact Phone Number]

“Example: Nguyen Van A_2154010101_Faculty of Business Administration_0359999999”.

Note:

– The Organizing Committee reserves the right not to publish entries that are invalid or inappropriate for the competition’s theme and content;

– The Organizing Committee’s decision is final.

4. Scoring Criteria:

Online voting method for each entry:

– Audience voting via form: accounts for 30%;

– The Organizing Committee’s score accounts for 70% of the total score, based on the following criteria: content conveyed, clear message, unique and creative ideas.

5. Prize Structure:
01 First Prize: 3,000,000 VND
01 Second Prize: 2,000,000 VND
02 Third Prizes: 1,000,000 VND each
03 Consolation Prizes: 500,000 VND each
01 Most Popular Prize: 1,000,000 VND each

In addition, students currently studying at the University who participate will receive 3 training points added to their Semester 2 training record for the 2024-2025 academic year.

III. TERMS AND CONDITIONS

– All information provided by contestants to the Organizing Committee must be truthful, accurate, and the contestant will be responsible for the information provided. The Organizing Committee has the right to disqualify a contestant if they provide false information at any point during the competition;

– The Organizing Committee reserves the right to change the procedures or regulations at any time to ensure that any issues are resolved in accordance with the actual progress of the entire competition. The Organizing Committee also has the authority to disqualify any individual at any time and for any reason that, in the Committee’s opinion, affects the requirements of organizing the competition;

– The Organizing Committee has the right to use the products and information of all contestants for promotional purposes without paying any fees;

– In case of disputes, complaints, or detection of signs of fraud related to the competition, the Organizing Committee will directly resolve them, and the decision of the Organizing Committee will be final;

– These regulations are effective from the date of signing. Only the Organizing Committee has the right to amend these regulations, and when so, the Organizing Committee will notify the participating units in writing.
